Overview
NICAST LTD. is a nanotech company, operating in the field of
tissue engineering, implantable biomaterials and advanced dosage
forms.
NICAST has developed a broad IP portfolio and unique know-how,
focused on the fabrication and use of nanometric-scale polymer
matrices.
NICAST's matrices mimic biological tissue and therefore allow the
creation of high performance biomimetic implants. NICAST's
proprietary technology is based upon electrocapilary spinning of
polymers, hereafter referred to as electrospinning. NICAST is
using electrospinning to create its unique drug eluting stent
cover for treating coronary and peripheral vascular stenosis.
In parallel, NICAST intends to capitalize on its peripheral
vascular graft application, indicated for facilitating vascular
access for end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients.
