Cell Cure Neurosciences Ltd
Core Business / Technology
Cell Cure Neurosciences Ltd., an Israeli subsidiary of ES Cell
International, develops cell-therapy products for the cure of
neurodegenerative disorders. The cell preparation is derived from
clinical grade human embryonic stem cell lines that are induced to
develop into dopamine-producing mid-brain committed neural precursor
cells suitable for transplantation into brains of patients with
neurologic disease. The company operates within the laboratory
facilities of Hadassah University Hospital, with a cGMP facility
included.
Main Markets / Applications
The initial effort is to turn human embryonic stem cells into dopamine
producing nerve-cells for the cure of Parkinson's disease. In the United
States over 1.5 million persons are living with Parkinson’s disease, and
drug therapy costs are $4 billion dollars per year. Similar technology
platforms are being developed for the cell therapy of other neuro-degenerative
diseases, such as ALS and MS. The company's cell lines can also be used
by pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the development of drugs and
biologics for the treatment of neuro-degenerative diseases.
Uniqueness / Advantage over Existing Products
The products are derived from human embryonic stem cells, as opposed to
adult stem cells, making them more robust.
